Duncan Lien is currently employed as a lecturer in the English Language Preparatory Program at Karadeniz Technical University in Trabzon, Turkey. He is also an MA Student in English Literature at Yeditepe University in Istanbul, writing a thesis on migration literature in the German-Turkish and Chicano/a contexts. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Georgia-Athens in Comparative Literature and German Studies, during which time he studied for one year at the University of Heidelberg. While in Germany he participated in the intercultural writing project Neue alte fremde Heimat and his text “Das Dorf, wo mich niemand kennt” was published in the same-titled book which resulted from the project. After graduation he lived in the Republic of Georgia for one year, and began working at KTU as part of the Fulbright English Teaching Assistant program.
