Paulina Aroch Fugellie, Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Mexico

Paulina Aroch Fugellie Born in Chile (12 October, 1973), and grew up in different countries of Latin America and Africa. She holds a Bachelor's degree in English Literature (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México) and a Master's degree in African Studies (El Colegio de México). She completed a Ph.D. degree at the Amsterdam School for Cultural Analysis, University of Amsterdam. Her dissertation, supervised by Mieke Bal and Murat Aydemir, was entitled Unrealized Promises: The Subject of Postcolonial Discourse and the New International Division of Labor. She has also studied and taught dramatic arts. She has taught aesthetics, semiotics, and (U.S. and African) cultural studies at diverse universities in Mexico, where she is currently based. She has published articles on a number of topics, but mostly concerning contemporary thought, as well as literary critique and fiction.
