Carroll Clayton Savant A PhD. candidate in Humanities with an emphasis in Literature at the University of Texas at Dallas, where he teaches Rhetoric and Composition. He holds an M.A. in Humanities from UTDallas and a B.M. in Music History and Literature from the University of North Texas. He is a former concert musician and private music instructor. He has held executive and consulting positions with the Denton Music Teachers Association and the Texas Music Teachers Association. His interests are the interdisciplinary representations of music and musicians in Victorian literature, specifically the work of Elizabeth Gaskell and George Eliot. He is also interested in the representations of home and private life in the work of Dickens and Trollope.
