Yi-Lee Wong is assistant professor at the Department of Educational Administration and Policy, Faculty of Education, Chinese University of Hong Kong. As a sociologist, she has been researching social mobility and social inequality. And, over the last decade, taking advantage of her geographical proximity, she has conducted a number of research projects on educational inequality in Hong Kong and Macao, as well as several projects on youth, in order to examine sociological issues such as class inequality in access and participation in education, and class differences in making educational choices, and to address policy issues such as the policies on grade retention and school dropouts.
